A new photo series aims to put a face to LGBT faith communities and the diversity of experiences that make someone #FaithfullyLGBT.
"Meeting so many LGBT people of faith made me want to share their stories to begin to put a face to those of us who live in the intersection of faith and sexuality," said Eliel Cruz, a religion writer who started the initiative.
Cruz recruited the first eight photo subjects at the Gay Christian Network Conference, the largest gathering of LGBT Christians which took place January 7-10 in Houston, Texas. Although all eight are Christian-identified, Cruz said he aims to continue expanding the project to include people from other faith backgrounds.
"I hope to show those who don’t believe you can be an LGBT person of faith that there are many of us doing just that," Cruz told The Huffington Post.
